A fragrance decant is a small portion of a perfume or cologne transferred from its original bottle into a separate travel atomizer. The practice has existed in fragrance communities for decades, but has grown significantly as niche perfumery has expanded and full-bottle prices have risen.
Why decants matter
A full-size fragrance bottle represents a significant commitment — financially and in terms of shelf space. Decants allow you to experience a fragrance fully before making that commitment.
Crucially, a decant allows you to wear a fragrance for several days in a row. This matters because fragrance evolves on skin over time. The opening note you smell in a store is not the fragrance you will experience four hours into wearing it.
What sizes do decants come in?
We offer 5ml and 10ml decants. A 5ml decant contains approximately 50 sprays — enough to wear a fragrance daily for several weeks. A 10ml decant offers closer to 100 sprays, providing a more extended trial or a comfortable travel size.
Are decants authentic?
Our decants are sourced exclusively from authentic, full-size bottles. We do not work with imitations or reproductions. Every fragrance we decant is the real composition from the original house.
Designer versus niche decants
We work across both categories. Designer fragrances — from established fashion and beauty houses — are widely available but often difficult to sample thoroughly before purchasing. Niche fragrances are produced in smaller quantities and can be significantly harder to access. Decants make both categories more approachable.
